Examinations

BECE, WAEC, NECO and CBT registration.

Registration is the point where families most often get lost. It should not be complicated, and here it is not.

What your child will sit

  • State BECE / NECO BECE

    Basic Education Certificate Examination

Basic Education Certificate Examinations taken at the end of the junior secondary stage. The school will confirm the current registration arrangements and dates.

  • WAEC

    West African Examinations Council

External examination guidance where applicable. The school office will confirm the current registration arrangements before families make plans.

  • NECO

    National Examinations Council

External examination guidance where applicable. Families should confirm the current route, requirements and timing with the school office.

  • CBT

    Computer-Based Testing

Computer-based examinations, including UTME practice and preparation. Our computer laboratory is used for familiarisation so no candidate meets a keyboard for the first time on exam day.

Step by step

How to register

Four steps. Start by calling the school — deadlines are set by the examination bodies and they do not move.

  1. Speak to the school office

Call or message the school to confirm which examination your child is registering for and the current deadline.

  2. Submit the candidate's details

Full name as it appears on the birth certificate, date of birth, passport photograph and subject combination.

  3. Pay the registration fee

The fee is set by the examination body each year. The school will confirm the current amount and payment method.

  4. Confirm and collect

Check the printed registration slip carefully — names and subjects cannot be changed after the deadline — then collect the examination details.

A note for parents

Check the registration slip yourself.

Names and subject combinations cannot be changed after the deadline has passed, and a misspelled name on a certificate follows a young person for years. Read the printed slip carefully before you sign it — we will go through it with you.
